Answers to 34 questions about capability, materials, software, accessories, operating conditions, and transportation.
Answer: Yes, it can cut acrylic up to 12 mm thick.
Answer: In CO₂ mode, the working area is 500 mm × 300 mm. In IR mode (sold separately), the working area is 300 mm × 265 mm.
Answer: The CO₂ laser power is 50W, and the IR laser power is 1.6W (sold separately).
Answer: Yes. A dedicated 1.6W Master IR laser module (sold separately) can be purchased to engrave most metal materials.
Answer: Yes. A dedicated 1.6W Master IR laser module can be purchased separately.
Answer: If the material is very thin, place a hard wooden board or cutting mat underneath the material. If the material is relatively thick, manual focus is recommended.
Answer: The machine is currently available in two versions: 220V and 110V. Please choose the appropriate version according to your local mains voltage.
Answer: Yes. Copy .nc or .gc files to a USB drive, then insert the USB drive into the machine for automatic recognition. It is recommended to place the files in the root directory of the USB drive.
Answer: No, it cannot cut transparent glass, as this may cause the glass to crack or shatter. However, it can engrave transparent glass.
Note: Transparent acrylic can be cut.
Answer: The maximum material thickness that can fit inside the enclosure for engraving is 60 mm.
Answer: Yes. You can purchase the Z1 riser and the R7 conveyor feeder to expand the working area to 500 mm × 800 mm. In IR mode, the working area can be expanded to 300 mm × 800 mm.
Answer: The D4 purifier is recommended. It supports hoses with a diameter of 75 mm.
Answer: The fan speed is 7000 RPM. It can effectively remove smoke and fumes from inside the enclosure.
Answer: The machine is certified as a Class 1 laser product. When the enclosure door is closed, it can effectively reduce smoke leakage; however, it is still recommended to connect an exhaust or air purification system.
Answer: Distilled water, purified water, or high-purity water that meets the required specifications must be used. Replacement every 30 days is recommended.
Answer: The recommended operating temperature range is 5°C to 35°C.
When the temperature is below 5°C, add antifreeze to the water tank. Please refer to the “Water Tank Refill and Water Replacement Guide of Master” section.
When the temperature reaches 35°C, turn on air conditioning to reduce the indoor temperature.
Note
When the water temperature is below 5°C or above 35°C, the machine will trigger a water temperature warning alarm.
When the water temperature is below 0°C or above 40°C, the machine will trigger an alarm and automatically stop operating.
The real-time temperature will be displayed on both the main screen interface and the AtomStack Studio software interface.
If the machine fails to automatically trigger the alarm or stop operation, please manually power off the machine immediately.
Answer: When the temperature is below 5°C, add antifreeze to the water tank. Please refer to the “Master Water Tank Refill and Water Replacement Guide” section.
When the temperature exceeds 35°C, turn on air conditioning to lower the indoor temperature.
After adding antifreeze, the machine can operate normally as long as the liquid in the water tank does not freeze.
Answer: Yes.
For bitmap engraving and fill engraving, you can try using 25,000 mm/min at 50% power.
For vector engraving, use 5,000 mm/min at 30% power.
For cutting 3 mm thick leather, the recommended settings are 150 mm/min at 100% power.
Answer: Yes. Download the AtomStack App to connect and operate the machine.
Answer: Yes. Additional accessories are required, such as the R6 or R8 rotary attachment. Please refer to the “Using the Master Rotary Attachments” section.
Answer: AtomStack Studio is the recommended software. LightBurn and the AtomStack App are also supported.
Answer: The airflow rate is ≥23 L/min. When cutting thicker materials, it is recommended to connect an external air pump with stronger airflow (≥40 L/min).
Answer: Yes. The machine features a modular design, so if a component is damaged, only the damaged part needs to be replaced.
Answer: 56 mm.
Answer: At least 510 mm of clearance from the wall is required to prevent the R7 conveyor feeder from hitting the wall.
Answer: The lifespan is approximately 10,000 hours. During operation, cooling water must be added to the water tank and maintained above the marked minimum water level.
Answer: The Master is designed with a bottom tray. To clean debris, first remove debris from the inner frame of the enclosure, then pull out the tray and clean it thoroughly.
Answer: Different components require different cleaning frequencies. Please refer to the “Maintenance and Care” section for details.
Answer: Master uses a fully enclosed design, and the enclosure door is made of transparent acrylic material with filtering properties. Under proper operating conditions, protective goggles are not required.
Answer:
Before transportation, completely drain the water tank. Please refer to the “Water Tank Refill and Water Replacement Guide of Master” section for the draining procedure.
During transportation, keep the machine upright and repack it in the original packaging to avoid damage.
Answer: Reflective materials should not be engraved directly. Before engraving, cover the surface with black marker ink or apply colored paper over the surface. This helps prevent laser reflections that could cause accidents or damage to the laser system.
Answer: The following materials must not be processed:
PVC (releases chlorine gas)
Chlorine-containing plastics
Metals with unknown coatings
Highly reflective mirror-like materials (may reflect the laser and damage the laser system)
Note: When processing unknown materials, it is recommended to perform a low-power test first.
Answer: During extended operation, it is recommended to stop the machine for 5–10 minutes after every 2 hours of use to allow the cooling system to return to optimal condition.
Answer:
If the machine will not be used for an extended period, drain the cooling water from the tank according to the “Master Water Tank Refill and Water Replacement Guide” tutorial to prevent internal moisture buildup or other unexpected issues.
Store the machine in a dry environment. Avoid leaving the machine in humid conditions for long periods, and power on the machine periodically. It is recommended to run the fan for 10 minutes once per week to help prevent bearing corrosion.
